Battlestar Galactica: Do we know who the last cylon is at this point?
I had been meaning to ask this since yesterday – Jeruba’s question with “May contain spoilers” in the title prompted me. If you’re reading this, and you still haven’t figured out the the answers may contain spoilers if you’re not up-to-date on the show, this is your warning. :)
Do we know that it’s Starbuck at this point? What about Ellen? If it is Starbuck, why would Diana have said that only 4 of the 5 final cylons were in the fleet?
I didn’t think we knew. I watch it on the website, and I was talking to a friend who watches it on TV. I asked him who he thought the last cylon was, and he said he already knew. I told him not to tell me, but now I’m completely up-to-date, and as far as I can tell, we still don’t know…
What’s your take?

@TaoSan – her name is Ellen. So then how do you explain Starbuck?
Also, do you find Ellen-as-final-cylon to be incredibly anti-climactic?
prolly they come up with some “cloned” sub-plot or something….
But it seems to me that the evidence for Starbuck as the final cylon is stronger than that for Ellen. We, the viewers, see Starbuck pull her own dog tag off of off dead Starbuck, while we only see Ellen say that she’s a cylon through the memory of Colonel Tigh, which could be distorted, or Ellen could just not count as “final” because she’s already dead by the time they find Earch, and the “Final Five” are supposed to “lead” them to Earth, which Starbuck does, and Ellen does not. So how can you be so sure it’s Ellen?
The forcefully removed ovary is a lose end that will certainly reappear.
Kinda makes me think it will have something to do with it.
Also, on the SCIFI website’s “best of” section the “Tigh flashback” scene had a huge spoiler warning on it saying “Last Cylon Revealed” ;)
That’s a good point, TaoSan.
@Asmonet, do you watch the show?
No! And I thought I could follow along.
I was wrong.
It’s like word salad to me.
Tigh’s wife… but what is the secret which she knows?
Gasps @asmonet. You don’t watch Battlestar? For shame! I don’t know if I can continue to associate with you.
@asmonet, I just noticed I made a typo – it says “Earch” where it should say “Earth” – does that make it any more clear?
;-)
rereading it, I started laughing thinking how silly it must sound if you don’t know what the heck is going on. it is a really good show though.
Shame on you, TaoSan!!! You added to you post after I had replied to it!!! I didn’t know that SciFi actually came out and said that she was the last cylon! Why didn’t you just say that in the first place? Mystery solved. Thanks!
@La chica- We have more than just Saul Tigh’s memory pointing to Ellen. In the teaser for next Friday’s episode you see Ellen wake up in a resurrection tank.
How many more episodes are left, anyway?
I’ve been watching these on DVD, so I really need to stop reading before AstroChuck gives anything else away. Honestly, AC, have some consideration!
I’m sorry. But I don’t believe I was the first one on this thread to mention the last cylon, which was the entire point of this question.
Next you’ll be telling me you hadn’t figured out that Roslin is pregnant with Gaius’ child.
LALAALALALALAAAA
I was just joking, by the way
Give me some credit. I knew that.
Now somebody tell me how many episodes left, please.
@La_chica_gomela
Sooooooooorryyy
my bad. Took a bit ‘til that one sparked in my head so I thought I’d load after….
@AstroChuck
8 left / 22 total in season 4
If they keep killing people off at the current rate it’ll be a “last man standing” finale :)
@AstroChuck
according to EpGuides there are 6 episodes left!
@TaoSan
And 15 characters (5 rebel cylons, 5 final five cylons and 5 colonialists), so that means the killing rate will have to be 2.5 per episode!!!
@Jayne
It would be hard to ANSWER this fluther and NOT give something away!!! Are you sure you want to follow this question?
Yes, yes…I just meant I hadn’t watched season 4.5 yet, the one currently airing on TV (I think), so I wasn’t expecting AC’s description of the teaser. But, I was also tired, so don’t mind me.
Sweet, the next episode has Ellen in it. I was wondering how they’d use her to resolve the series. But another 8 episodes? Hmm, I wonder what will happen. Well, other than the non-rebel Cylons coming in, hopefully under the leadership of Ellen… whether that will be good or bad, who knows.
@xxxciter
Got me there. I was under the impression there are 22 episodes in in the final season. So 6 it is then.
@Jayne: Hey, I recognized who you were the second you hit Fluther. Give me some slack!
Ellen? Ellen. Go figure.
In honor of that revelation, I retired my Cylon icon.
Yep. Gave it up, moved on to my current steeljelly.
There is still one more Cylon… the one that “died” (Daniel)
With the revelation of Daniel (bet he shows up somewhere!), I am resurrecting my Cylon icon.
Why did Cavil kill himself in the finale—the whole war comes down to HIS hissey fit, and he whimps out in the end! Funny
