Well, seeing as how they just did a major overhaul, I see no reason to wait. If you wanna wait until the new best thing comes out you’ll be waiting forever.
In June, what might be released is the new operating system, snow leopard, but Noah D is right the computers themselves did get upgraded and if you wait for the “improved version” you’ll wait forever. You can check the buyers guide but I’m sure they’ll be pretty neutral about the situation.
@Noah_D thanks! Sorry I forgot to include the link!
If you have a problem with first generation products, wait; otherwise, they probably aren’t getting updated any time soon.
if you’re a student you may as well wait for summer and get the student discount and possibly free ipod.
You can always get the student discount, that is if you buy it online. You just enter in your school and get the 20% off, you might not get the free ipod but 20% is still nice. That is if you need it right now.
I would say do it now. Considering that if you wait then you will wait 6 or more months and then get a new one. Then within less then a year there will be a new one. You could also look at a PC alternative.
No matter what you do, within a year there will be a better model. You can’t win by waiting.
There is no guarantee Apple will run their iPod promo again this summer; you can receive your student discount year-round, in an Apple Retail Store or online.
May as well get it now, because no matter when you buy your Mac, Apple will release a snazzier version the following week. This is because Steve loves to mess with you, which is also why, come next century, the iPhone will be implanted in your cortex, and still won’t do cut n’ paste.
@cschack I agree. That is why I have decided to get a NetBook instead of an iPod touch or to save a bit more money for a base macbook.
