Attack of the Clones is my least favorite Star Wars movie.

Attack of the Clones.

Purely for the love story angle. I can’t watch half that movie without giggling like a schoolgirl. for the record, i am not a schoolgirl.

I personally hate Attack of the Clones less. Young Ani annoyed me, the pod racers were pointless, WAY too much Jar Jar, and finally after a few decades of waiting this is what Star Wars fans got? At least the standards were lowered for Attack of the Clones.

Menace sucked

menace. That kid was the worst actor. I saw a show or a clip or something where they showed him and the other kid it was down to and the other kid rocked.

The Phantom Menace was really bad. The character Jar Jar Binks is one of the worst of all the Star Wars characters ever created. Also, the acting performances and lines of the boy who played young Annakin Skywalker are almost entirely forgettable.

Jar Jar Binks was truly heinous, but Attack of the Clones was dreadful times ten.

Phantom menace because who gives a fuck about pod-racing 6 year old Darth Vader. Actually who cares about fucking pod racing. If Natalie Portman had gotten naked it would have only barely saved that movie.

@madcapper good one. “barely” saved the movie.

The Phantom Menace, because it lowered the bar so extensively that it killed the remaining two prequels right out of the gate. Clones didn’t stand a chance; it had to dig through several layers of shit to even find the bar. And I mean, how did Lucas manage to fuck up something as exciting as a trade agreement? The mind boggles.

@Bri_L I’m glad you caught that haha

I say pitch the entire first 3 episodes in the drink. Crapola.

BTW, saw the end of RotJ on Spike TV the other day… you know at the very end when Yoda, Obi-Wan, and Anakin show up at the Ewok party?

Well, they’d copy/pasted long-haired Ep.3 Hayden Christensen into the frame on top of the original “old Anakin” played by David Prowse.

George Lucas can suck a big donkey one. What a flippin’ moron.

eponymoushipster's avatar

@robmandu that was a huge thing, you didn’t know about that before? they boned Prowse just like indiana jones.

i’d say they are about equal

The Phantom Menace’s saving grace is that it has the best lightsaber duel of any Star Wars movie; also, it didn’t rely on CG to the same degree as II and III. The CG style of AoTC and RoTS, in my opinion, completely diminished the ‘Star Wars’ atmosphere I enjoyed so much in IV, V, and VI (this being the ship and set design, and the generally grimy/used feel of the ships and stuff).

Tangential:

The Sword Duel between the Man in Black and Inigo Montoya > any light saber battle in Star Wars
