I don’t know if it is different in adults or children, but before my daughter’s heart surgery they had her on a diuretic (lasix) to keep her from having too much fluid on her lungs, which can cause congestive heart failure.
Duretics are common to use for CHF.
I was diagnosed last year, however, since starting to exercise and watching what I eat, I no longer take any medication. My symptoms were not severe and I would recommend consutation with doctor before discontinuing any meds.
Isosorbide (isordil) and catapres patch
