Okay, who was the sexiest character on Star Trek?

Asked by loser (15032points) February 10th, 2009

I personally had a thing for Captain Janeway. Only reason I watched that show. Until Seven came onto the scene… Anyway, what do y’all think?

Totally would have to be Captain Jonathan Archer (Scott Bakula)... I loved him in his Quantam Leap days too <3

Okay, now I feel like a total nerd.

tennesseejac's avatar

ive only seen a handful of shows, but my pick goes to whoever this is

@loser do you know who this is?

Bluefreedom's avatar

I always liked Counselor Deanna Troi from Star Trek: The Next Generation. She is seriously hot.

Bagardbilla's avatar

I’d have to go with (as I like to call her) Six of Nine.

cyndyh's avatar

Scotty, then Checkov, then Archer. For the women, no one was hotter than Uhura. If I had legs like that I’d wear a miniskirt every day.

I had a thing for Janeway. Her voice did it for me. But my first Star Trek crush was Dr. Crusher. Nnnngh, redheads!

As for the guys? McCoy. STFU. He wasn’t much to look at, but I had (still have, maybe?) a crush, anyway.

cheebdragon's avatar

Never thought I’d see “star trek” and “sexy” in the same sentence…..

SEVEN OF NINE

something tells me i need to start watching this show

antimatter's avatar

YEA IF YOU CAN FIND A CHANNEL TO WATCH IT WE ONLY HAVE 3 STATE CONTROLLED CHANNELS

Vinifera7's avatar

Data.

no, jk

Deanna Troi from Next Generation and Seven of Nine from Voyager.

antimatter's avatar

I WONDER HOW OLD IS SEVEN OF NINE IN REAL LIFE

Vinifera7's avatar

You must have forgotten to turn off caps lock.

antimatter's avatar

Does it matter if I use caps locks?

Vinifera7's avatar

Yes. It’s annoying.

laureth's avatar

Actually, I’m going to say Data and mean it.

And Seven of Nine.

I think it says something about me, going for the least human of the bunch. For some reason, I also liked the holographic Doctor.

dynamicduo's avatar

Trip! That gorgeous accent is to die for.

T’Pol was also very attractive. So was Kira.

antimatter's avatar

I stick to my guns seven of nine was the best

dynamicduo's avatar

Spoilers!

See, Seven was just too extreme. I mean, what are the odds of rescuing a Borg who turns out to be a supermodel-level attractive human in the Delta quadrant? And they never really did anything with her attractiveness until the events with Chakotay – there was some tension with Harry Kim but it ended quickly. So as a woman, I found Seven’s dialog and transformation from Borg to Human to be really interesting, but her physical appeal was not as strong and I saw it more as fan service than anything legitimate.

antimatter's avatar

Good point, but in reality it was about the ratings, in general I think it made the story more interesting to have a Borg female with good looks and to make her more acceptable for the story line.

dynamicduo's avatar

More spoilers.

I actually found it more interesting when they rescued the Borg kids from the virus-infected ship, they added a nice touch to the crew. But yes, you are right, it was all about ratings. Too bad Jeri Ryan’s hot body wasn’t enough to compensate for the crappy writing and awful inconsistencies that plagued VOY.

antimatter's avatar

True sadly there was only two seasons in South Africa and some how the few episodes I was good but not as good as Firefly

suzyq2463's avatar

I had (and still have) a thing for the Tribbles. Round, furry, and all trembly.

Seven of Nine/T’Pol.

Seven had that ca-razy tight outfit, but, the enterprise writers found every possible opportunity for T’Pol to get down to her delicates. hi-5, writers!

least favorite: Kes. that’s borderline pedophilia (which Neelix kinda looked like anyway).

wait, does this include guest stars?

loser's avatar

I gotta add Deanna Troi and Seven of Nine now, too.

And Data!!!

Okay, just kidding!

cyndyh's avatar

Ok, I’m about to out myself.

<deep breath>
Hi, my name is Cyndy and I’m a Trekkie.

I went to a Star Trek convention once where there was this cool drawing at one of the tables in the vendor room of Data naked and the caption was “Fully Functional Fantasy”. If I’d had more money on me I would have bought it for my friend back home who had a serious crush on him. :^>

I still get happy when Brent Spiner turns up as the villain in a crime drama or something. I may deny all this later.

dynamicduo's avatar

Being a Trekkie is not something you should hide. It’s a point of pride. Star Trek is one of the few TV series that’s worth acclaim and praise. Another one is Babylon 5. My Trekkie POV is that I nitpick the series because I truly wanted it to be 100% and in many cases lazy people dropped the ball (a lot of Voyager, for instance). It’s a thing of love :)

I will say I’ve never been to a convention, but that’s more due to me being in Canada than any lack of desire to go to one. There are probably some in Toronto every now and then though. Might be interesting to keep an eye on.

Here! Here!

steelmarket's avatar

How about those green slavegirls? Orions, I think. Wow.
And, Sally Kellerman was hot in that early TOS episode with Gary Lockwood, may have been the pilot.

cyndyh's avatar

If you get the chance you should go to one of the big conventions, then. You will see all sorts of people into it for all sorts of reasons, all sorts of levels of weird, and everyone just having fun. There are all sorts of ways to participate. Trivia contests, music video contests, skits, best table, etc. If you’re a collector you’ll flip. And why do I always end up with a friend talking to a woman in a chain mail bikini? :^>

I really liked Babylon 5. I liked the different setting—that it’s more about diplomacy than exploration. I also loved Blake’s 7, Dr. Who, Torchwood, and I even like that Sarah Jane thing although it seems to be targeted to a younger audience. I liked the Stargate shows, too. (Ronin. Pant pant)

< thought Trekkie was a term deprecated by the serious fans who prefer Trekker.

robmandu's avatar

Oh… for those fans who can’t get enough, check out…

Brent Spiner

Wil Wheaton

LeVar Burton

eponymoushipster's avatar

@robmandu awesome. and i love the fact that the are following each other.

buster's avatar

Jordi AKA Levar Burton also narrator of PBS Reading Rainbow. He looked so sexy in the eighties Reading Rainbow with the hi-top box fade haircut.

eponymoushipster's avatar

@buster reading rainbow was the shiz.

cyndyh's avatar

@robmandu: Trekkie’s not derogatory to us older folks.

Vinifera7's avatar

Jordi LaForge was a dork in Next Generation. Even Data got his android freak on with Tasha Yar in one episode.

eponymoushipster's avatar

@Vinifera7 it was discrimination.

Vinifera7's avatar

But even Worf got some.

eponymoushipster's avatar

@Vinifera7 He wasn’t blind. You thought I meant something else?

Vinifera7's avatar

Um… what? Jordi was blind, but he could still see with that visor thing. In terms of the storyline, I don’t know what Jordi would be discriminated based on. I just mentioned Worf because he’s a different species.

eponymoushipster's avatar

No, i meant worf wasn’t blind.

i think it’d be EASIER for Worf, being the only Klingon in Starfleet. It’s exotic and different. Look at Troi: she probably dated Worf just to piss off Lxwona. Happens all the time. Plus, he’s hardcore macho.

Girls probably looked at Geordi, go: WTF with the headband? ohgosh another engineer plus, they probably thought he was looking thru their uniforms, with his x-ray goggles.

and he hung around with wesley.

yeah, his balls were in a box up there with data’s emotion chip, hands down.

Vinifera7's avatar

Discussing this made me realize that there weren’t any gay characters, really. Or if there were, I forgot about them.

You’d think that by then, society would have been more accepting.

eponymoushipster's avatar

they explored a gay storyline on TNG between the doctor and a trill, and again between Dax and some former lover, who also happened to be a woman. they kinda looked into it in the one TNG episode where they encountered a race of asexual beings and Riker, being Riker, fell in love of one of them.

plus there was Wesley and the Traveler…

loser's avatar

@eponymoushipster Wow!!! I am impressed!!! I never would have remembered all of those!!!

I bow to your trekkie superiorness…

eponymoushipster's avatar

@loser if there’s a TNG marathon on SciFi or something, i’ll watch the entire thing. TNG is my favorite.

loser's avatar

Oh totally!!!

antimatter's avatar

TNG had a super story line would love to see again.

antimatter's avatar

What was the name of the female officer who died in TNG season one or two. It was like black tar stuff that killed her.

antimatter's avatar

She was hot!

cyndyh's avatar

Wasn’t she also a playboy model?

eponymoushipster's avatar

@cyndyh yes, per Wikipedia, she posed in the late 70s. She also appeared nude in the Red Shoe Diaries.

did not know: she is Bing Crosby’s granddaughter.

cyndyh's avatar

Oh, yeah. Mr. Crosby got major cool points with me when he sang with David Bowie on a Christmas special. When TNG first came out we’d all heard she was going to be on it and the relationship to Bing. Pretty cool.

eponymoushipster's avatar

Well, i was 7 when TNG first came on, so some of those finer details were lost on me. I don’t see her as being someone i’d want to see nekked. but the 70s were a different time…they didn’t even have brazilians back then.

cyndyh's avatar

I couldn’t remember if it was her or someone else early on who did the playboy spread.

Ha. The method used for a brazilian wasn’t around but the…um… end product of one already existed. It wasn’t as common, though. Don’t you remember those swimsuits and leotards that went up to the waist on the sides in the early 80s? Note that those didn’t have trim. I’ll stop on that note right there. :^>

mrswho's avatar

PICARD! Sexy French man with a British accent. Diplomacy is hott.

eponymoushipster's avatar

Did they ever explain that, btw? Why did a frenchman have a british accent?

mrswho's avatar

I don’t think they did, but I didn’t care much.

eponymoushipster's avatar

perhaps by then, the french and the english will get along
