I have had that experience many times. Sadly, I usually can not remember what it was about the next morning! Will you tell me your story anyway? Pretty please?
I often get close to a point of revelation, but then immediately forget what it was about.
Yes, I did, when I realized that I was the only one who was responsible for my happiness.
Okay – here’s mine! I noticed that many mornings when I got back from running recently, my kneecaps would hurt, sometimes really bad. Naturally, at first, I thought this had something to do with running. I spent a lot of energy trying to figure out what about running was causing it (the cold? my gait? my shoes? my orthotics? a recurrence of a childhood illness?)
Tonight I realized the cause of the pain actually wasn’t running at all! It was my bicycle seat! It was set too low, a well-known cause of pain in the kneecaps. Running was just irritating the original problem.
I’m looking forward to my next post-run being pain-free! Yay!
Oh, yeah. If you are in a career where you are expected to create something from nothing, this kind of epiphany is a part of the process.
