Does anyone know of a better way to clean up glass from a wood deck?

Asked by chyna (51598points) February 11th, 2009

We have high winds today and they picked up my patio table and shattered the glass into thousands of pieces. I am sweeping with a broom, but I’ll never get it all picked up like this. Any other solutions?

I don’t have one so I didn’t know if it would work. I will get one tomorrow. Thanks.

You can probably rent one for a day…we’ve had the exact same problem with tables – It’s a pain in the a$$.

That would even be better. I don’t really need one and it would be an added expense.

Good luck! If you can’t find a rental place for the vac you could also use a hose and push the glass to a central spot for sweeping.

The big worry here is my dog going through the glass. I stay with her when she goes out right now, but I want to make sure I get it all up.

To get the very small pieces, try duct tape. use about a foot long piece, gloves. turn tape upside-down and dap it a board at a time especially in the area where the glass impacted the wood deck.
