So, what do you singles think about Valentine's Day?
Just lookin’ for people’s opinions on this one. Do you get bummed out when this time of the year roles around, just not care, etc….?

I think my girl friends and I are going to Vegas!!!!!!!!
I don’t care. I will spend the money I saved for beer. Everyone wins.
I’m wondering why I don’t have a date :)
Nothing. It’s a nice day and all, but it’s not anything special. It’s one of those days that was fun when I was a kid but has lost its panache for me as an adult. Even when I was coupled, I treated it like any other day.
@johnpowell: So…just another day for you, eh? ;)
@loser: You’re better off, no grumbling! Have some lurve!
No biggie. :)
I don’t put much stock in Valentine’s.
I can take it or leave it. I’ve tended bar at various fine dining restaurants over the years, so V-day, girlfriend or not, usually means $$$ day.
It think it was the most fun as a kid; passing around those goofy cards you bought from Longs Drugs the night before. I might have to commemorate those salad days and grab some candy hearts.

I get a bit down because pretty much everyone I know has a girlfriend/boyfriend but I work all day so whatever…
Not going to lie, I get a bit bummed too. I know what it’s like to have a boyfriend on Valentine’s Day and I’m going to miss it this year. I try not to let it get me too down though… and I’ll be hanging out with my friend who just got dumped. I’m pretty sure she’s feeling more down than I am, so my goal this Saturday is to cheer her up.
it’s like x-mas $$$$$$$$$$$$
It is just another gay Corporate Holiday to make people spend money.
@nikipedia: what a great way to spend the day! I like that. Go see a show, walk up and down the strip and just chill.
@whackyrusty: did you try asking a girl out? I hear that sometimes does the trick. :P
As for the rest, it’s interesting to see how people feel about it. Having never really dated anyone, I can’t say I ever looked forward to anything more than just getting some candy like peedub, lol. So I’m typically laid back about it.
But whenever Valentine’s Day roles around it always makes me wonder, what would my life be like if I weren’t single? (An uber dramatic reel out of a melodrama, I’m afraid. I get really…different around some guys, haha.)
@Buckeye: it’s all about the bottom line, right?
@Introverted_Leo: You got it, still doesn’t make me want to go out and “show” how much I like someone.
I change my answer!
A boy bought me jewelery and it came in the mail today. I like this one this year. I like a lot.
How quickly the tides have changed! :P
Well, when nothing is happening, it’s no big deal. But this is the first time I’ve gotten something for Valentine’s in the right time frame. So I’m pretty jazzed. :D
@asmonet – Jewelry is a w00t! kind of situation. :D
Nice.
@Buckeye: yeah, it would take the joy out of liking or being in love with someone, I’d think, because you’re already expecting something. It’s like this yearly obligation that you’re expected to act on, and if you don’t you’re an inconsiderate lover (unless the other party really couldn’t care less).
Meh, what do I care? I guess if I was working at a bar like peedub, it’d be something to look forward to then. Heh.
Just enjoy it, a little bit of romance in these dark days can be good for you.
Speaking as a teenage nerd, it ain’t a big deal.
If a girl happens to say something to me about it, I probably turn her down and go on with my life.
If I get no valentines whatsoever, I will probably forget it and go on with my life.
Either way, I end up single and happy about it.
