Why do you need to refresh the home page of Fluther?

Asked by Jbor (649points) February 13th, 2009

It seems to be Ajax based (or something similar). Which in this context basically means that the answer pages are refreshed automatically. But why not the home page?

I have to do it because I use elinks. What’s your excuse?

Uh, a text based browser. Haven’t heard about them for quite a while :-) Why, if I may ask? I use Firefox.

My reloads but it’s like every 5 minutes. i usually have to do a manual reload. (i’m on firefox btw)

When I say refresh edI actually mean updated. Refreshing is a manual action, updating happens automatically. Anyway, the answer pages update automatically, but the home page has to be manually refreshed.

@Jbor You are correct. I don’t know why it is so, though.

I have to do a lot of stuff in a remote box and I use the browser to load quite a bit of stuff into said remote box. I just brought up fluther one day to see how it rendered and I liked it. Plus my ssh connection to the remote box is way more secure then the local browser on my local box.

Probably the short answer is because I’m crazy.

Just so you know, I actually have to refresh each page with elinks, not just the home page. Also, I can’t use the site search. It gives me a complaint about not using javascript.
