Does a childhood fixation on Pokemon count? Most anime fans don’t seem to think so.
Elfen Lied.
@mrswho I don’t think so. I myself had a Pokemon fixation when I was 10 but I don’t consider it my favourite anime. It was just a childhood fixation.
still have all the cards though!!
those are some good animes, but any questions about a anime you don’t know just ask, kay? ^_^
Pokemon does count as an anime
@Hinata_88
Well that is true, I don’t consider someone who just liked Pokemon as a kid to “into” anime.
It was just a fad that ran through the US and thank god it’s gone. There is better anime to watch out there.
thats true, but there are some smaller kids out there you know. There are better animes out there too, like Naruto or Bleach.
Anything by Studio Ghibli film wise.
why do you hate Studio Ghibli films?
?
erm no.
Question: What is your favourite anime?
Extended Answer: Well I like anything by Studio Ghibli as far as films go. They are really enjoyable.
Honestly? Tenchi Muyo.
And X/1999
I like that you enjoy them and im not saying I hate Studio Ghibli films
i only saw the first one (i don’t know if they made anymore after) but the loveless one was pretty good.
do movies count? because castle in the sky was incredible.
Project Freedom (because it was created by a Noodle company)
Anything with robots
DBZ
Fullmetal Alchemist
I’ve been reading Deathnote.
I’m still a sucker for DBZ. sorry but nobody is cooler than vageta
I’ve also seen Vampire Hunter D about a hundred times.
DBZ is, was, and will continue to be – FAIL.
To be honest, I hate most anime, but the one anime that I can enjoy is Afro Samurai.
@asmonet
When I went to see Mall Cop a week ago, one of the previews is for a real-action movie for DBZ. No joke. :O

Fullmetal Alchemist
Cowboy Bebop
Ghost in the Shell
Neon Genesis Evangelion

I fucking love dragonball z. When I was in like 6th and 7th grade when cartoon network first started playing the frieza saga i was in another world.
honestly i met one of my best friends at that time over our love for dragonball z and pokemon the original (red and blue) games. we would call each other during the comercials and talk about it all day at school. i miss those days lol.
also has anyone ever seen perfect blue? it was a movie i had got in middle school but i thought it was awesome. kind of a sick psycho thriller anime. very awesome.
that and wicked city was aweeesome lol. i think in the first 5 minutes you see a dude fucking a chick who turns out to be a spider lmao. that movie was crazy.
Hard to say. Can’t say i have an all-time, but for now it’s Darker than black.
Really liked speedgrapher and akira was awesome, and i’m getting into tengen toppa gurren lagann. And I absolutely love Outlaw star, have the full box set of it.

@seekingwolf: I’ve been pretending it didn’t exist for years. Trust me. I know. And I wish I didn’t.
AH MOTHERFUCK.
How did I forget Trigun and Cowboy Bebop?!
Akira is a given.
And you never forget your first…Sailor Moon.
I still have the whole series.
God, I miss Toonami.
@arcoarena…Man you you make me feel ooolllddd.
i got hooked on DBZ while watching it with my two boys when they were still in the single digit ages. We’d have a blast. :)
We used to watch Tokyo Pig too. This is when they got older and we would have our Sunday morning ritual of just ripping on the show.
I should start to feel melancholy here since the boys are now 14 and 16 and doing their own thing. I don’t because I now have a 5 year old little girl to watch with.
She likes Naruto. I only like it because she does and it gets me out of a half hour of Hannah Montana.
i think hell is being locked in a room with a thousand televisions and every single one of them is showing The Suite Life of Zach and Cody
shudders
OH.
Battle Angel Alita.
I miss watching good anime.
@uberbatman
Cat Soup looks great. I’ll have to check that out.
@Vinifera7 its short, but visually enticing from start to finish
@uberbatman
I guess it is short! It’s only a half hour. I just watched it and… it was pretty trippy. It made me think of how novel and exciting the world must appear to young children. Just about everything that happens is a look at reality through a highly exaggerated perspective.
I think some of the old animes are okay to and your right that the little kids should at least have some animes to watch to. (just for them)
Oh uber, my heart has melted.
Anyone familiar with My Neighbor Totoro?
Vinifera7 do you know Spirted away and Howl’s moving Castle?
God, I hate those two movies.
I saw both there kind of good, but I own Howl’s moving castle( Its a book to) I know there kind of childish, but its good for the smaller kids. ^_^
Kenshin OVA
Vampire D, Original and Blood lust.
Trigun
Cowboy bepop
Ghost in the shell both movies and Stand alone complex.
X 1999 original movie.
Tekka Man In america Tecknoman.
Sailor Moon
Devil hunter yoko.
Many others… never pokemon never… Liked the idea of dbz but couldn’t stand one fight took a freaking week… he would charge for a freaking week. so i got updates from a friend who loved only took a few months.
OH MY FUCKING GOD ASMO IS PISSED I TOOK ALL THE GOOD ANSWERS. :’’’’’(
@Hinata_88
I like Spirited Away. I’m not familiar with the other one.
you should watch Howl’s moving Castle its really good. you can get it online at Barns and Nobles. (www.bn.com)
My fav animes will always be Lucky Star and Higurashi. Lucky star is about a group of high spirited teen girls with greay life stories. Higurashi is about the battle between a group of friends trying to save their town. Both animes touched my heart.
Slice of life/School life (these have made me laugh and cry, and I’d even go so far as to say they changed my outlook on life): Clannad/Clannad AS, Angel Beats, Usagii Drop
Hilarious comedies: Nichijou, Hayate no Gotoku, Cromartie High School
Drama/Psych: Stein’s Gate and Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica (although I always make the case that it’d be better if Madoka herself was just removed altogether)
Adventure style: Gurren Lagann and Katanagatari
“Shaft” (yes, it’s a studio that’s a genre): Bakemonogatari
Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood!
