Has anyone else noticed how many mattress sales there always are on President’s Day? Where does that come from…is there something about February 16th that says “Go buy a mattress” or is it something to do with our nation’s presidents?

It’s indirect. And it also covers dishwashers. ;)
1. Stores want an excuse to have a sale to bring in business.
2. People often have President’s day off from work.
3. Days off are good times to go shopping, especially if there are sales.
4. Hey, doesn’t cash have Presidents’ pictures on it?
Presidents day is a holiday.
Holidays are celebrations.
Celebration is often done on a mattress.
Q.E.D.
It is right after Valentine’s day.
because lots of presidents have banged chicks on mattresses. See also: Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe.
My guess is that during the winter, people are more likely spending money on things inside their home. As opposed to spring and summer, when they are spending money on vacations, lawn furniture and camps for the kids.
the denver mattress company??
(i cant back that up…)
I remember hearing about an inventory tax and many retail companies closed their books on March 31 so they didn’t want to have a lot of inventory on hand subject to an additional tax. It is a kind of fiscal year-end close-out sale tied to a 3 day weekend.
They bought sheets at the January White Sales and they STILL didn’t get a good night’s sleep so now they have to go for broke.
Some people don’t have to work presidents day. So if everyones home and not at work then they can go shopping.. for a matress..
Or maybe the day after presidents day is made for you to have sex on your new matress!lol
