Where shall I go now that Mervyn's has closed?

I first ventured into Mervyn’s when I was pregnant, not seeing any sense in paying Macy’s prices for things I’d wear for only a few months.
I went back for baby clothes, school clothes, women’s everyday tops and jeans, lingerie, jackets, men’s flannel shirts, household linens, and much, much more. Over the years I found that there was actually very little for which I had to go back to the high-ticket stores. For most ordinary purposes, I could get decent quality and selection at Mervyn’s.
Now they’re gone. When the jeans and towels and flannel shirts wear out, where do I go for equivalent products? The answer isn’t Target and Wal-Mart, thanks.

Circuit City… oh, wait.
Hmm.. what about Gottschalks? They have a lot of a little bit of everything. Weird sentence, sorry.
Kohl’s is very similar to Mervyn’s. They have housewares and clothing.
Or you could try an outlet mall, if you have one near you.
I’m all about thrift stores but probably not for lingerie.
One can find an amazing variety of things at an estate sale.
Costco has some great items. They should expand their clothing selection.
Gotta go with Target. It is a good blend of cheap and decent quality.
Ross or Old Navy perhaps?
Oh dear me. I simply don’t know. What will we do to find clothing? o.O
I find equivalent merchandise at Ross, Marshalls, T.J. Maxx and Target. Hopefully you have those stores in your area.
Kohl’s is so similar to Mervyn’s I once thought they were owned by the same company. If you are pining for the Mervyn’s experience then you should shop at Kohl’s.
Both inventories come from the same sweatshops in the same third world countries so you should be good.
Where shall I go now that Mervyn’s has closed?
You can still go. Stand there at the doors and say, Open open open
Might work?
Snide and mocking responses aside, these are helpful responses. Thank you. I’ll try Kohl’s. I have not found Ross, Marshall’s, and Target to be in the same league in the type of things I am looking for, but I’ve never visited Kohl’s or T.J. Maxx. I’ll check them out.
