What's the most interesting documentary you've ever seen?

Asked by elchoopanebre (3079points) February 17th, 2009

I’ve been on a documentary fix lately.
(The great part is many of the directors want to get a point across so most are available online free)

The absolute best was “The Science of Sex Appeal” on the Discovery Channel.

Anyway you could find a link to it?

I’m doubting it but it’s worth asking…sounds very interesting.

Wow. Love the discovery channel. This may not be all of it, but they have 8 segments on the web site: http://dsc.discovery.com/videos/science-of-sex-appeal/index.html

Agreed, that was quite a messed up documentary. Especially the part where she was throwing the goo on the brain.

I can’t remember the name of it, but in high school, we watched a documentary shot by the first ever American camera crew to get into North Korea.

Zeitgeist: Addendum

It explains our banking system, which is called fractional reserve banking.

The origin of money is one of the greatest things that are taken for granted

I haven’t seen it yet, but I want to see Religulous(sp?). I know its more opinionated and kind of a pseudo-documentary, but I think its right up my ally.

Religulous was great! Just watched it for the 2nd time the other day with my born again Christian girlfriend. She wasn’t thrilled :)

I agree, religilous is a good one. Granted it is more for the funny than an actual documentary, but it definately contains some questions and information that most religious people don’t like to hear.

“Married to the Eiffel Tower” – about people who have romantic/sexual relationships with objects. You have to see it to believe it. One woman married the Berlin Wall and changed her name to Mrs. Wall. Another was in love with an amusement park ride at a local fairground called 1001 Nacht.

Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father

I’m not into most docs (honestly, they bore me) but I’ll definitely stand by this one.

I tried to find the full length film on the subject below with no luck.

An absolutely fascinating product more than a decade on.
