I’ve priced engine replacement in an ‘86 escort and it was $2600. I’ve replaced an engine in a ‘96 Winstar, but it was used and I got the whole salvage for $900 plus about $500 labor.

Would it be worth your while to look for a salvage Lexus for that year?
