No, Facebook does not cause cancer.

The first thing one should do when presented with an internet article is determine the accuracy of the author, publication, experts presented within, et cetera. Let us do so here.
– Publisher: The daily mail. Similar to a tabloid paper. Credibility minus 5.
– Author: “DailyMailReporter”. Haha! NO name is associated with it. Credibility minus 10.
– Expert: Dr Aric Singman, someone known for making very grandoise predictions about the health of the world. He, and this article in question, was discussed in my other community. He’s not credible. He profits off of such sensationalism. Credibility minus infinity.

Final judgment: not credible at all.

Logic says: of course people spending more time in front of computers means they aren’t in the sun frolicking around with frisbees, so yes it’s probable that people are being less physically active and cancer or other disease rates may raise. But to say that Facebook causes cancer is to blatantly disregard the actual science in lieu of proclaiming a headline that will sell more issues or gain more traffic which profilts all parties in this activity. Guess what? The expert has just released a book, so he’s making the media circuit to get his name out there so that you google his name and find his site and buy his book.

This is not news. This is newsertainment.

If you sit in the total dark, staring at your monitor, like the girl in the photo – you are certainly a candidate for eye strain!

i think that anyone who uses the computer that excessively is bound to have some sort of problems, physiologically or psychologically.
i think the article itself is exaggerated though. however i am sure that there are some sort of health-benefits to talking to people face to face rather than exclusively online…
