I give us ten or fifteen years before the US/UK, Russia and China face off over exploitation rights in central Asia.

WWII happened after a major and extended economic downturn.
Really rotten economies tend to breed discord, nationalism, and civil unrest.
That’s why the CIA now considers the current economic crisis the most serious threat facing the US, even above terrorism.

Worls war three will happen at 9:32 PM on August 23rd 2043. I know this because I come form the future. The good news is that wors war III will stop at 10:26 that same evening. However, 4.2 billion of the 9.6 billion people alive at that time will have perished. No one will know who started the worls war. However, the discovery of worls holes in the quantum flux will make phsysicists suspet that we have been invaded by alien time travellers. Thay, if course, will be correct.

In fact, I am one of those invaders, and I am agitating for a new worls war in your time. It is so much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t think World War III will ever happen. There are never any ultimate winners in wars and everyone ends up losing something or suffering somehow when it’s over.

No, I don’t think any large nations will ever band together and try to take over large swaths of land because it wouldn’t be effective.

It will be small skirmishes and influence peddling along with terrorist and counter-terrorist violence. At most, a rouge nation will decide it has nothing to lose and will shoot off a nuclear missile. But that would cause a worldwide united reaction, not a divisive world war.

Hopefully, we will find a way out of this downward spiral and work towards a common humanity instead of nationalistic bickering and resource hoarding.
