I tend not to notice the people with signs on the street corners who are trying to get your business, but today when I was driving about there was a guy promoting Little Caesar’s Pizza and he was totally into dancing with his sign. He had on head phones and was giving us a great show, it made me laugh. Do you have these people in your town? What are your thoughts?

I feel sorry for them because they have to stand there for hours in the cold or heat. I know they don’t make much money. I think part of the boogie is to stay warm and fight off boredom. The Little Caesars does it here too. Ive seen other people twirling signs, dancing, and other stuff in various cities before too.
no we dont have people like that here in my small town
Well, he got his sign noticed, so I guess he is doing his job properly. If he likes doing it, and it makes his day go faster, then I think it’s great.
Yeah, I’ve seen them before. The ones with the most gusto definitely make me smile.
I don’t mind seeing young people doing it, it looks like they are having fun. When I see an older guy (usually not doing too much dancing) holding signs on a corner though, it makes me sad.
Bring it on in to Omeletville!
People in NYC laugh at touts dressed up as food. These guys know it so they just go with it and try to be funny. Bless ‘em, we’ve got loads of frustrated jazz babies and actors here.
i love when they look into it. i feel bad generally though, especially the ones wearing heavy costumes in florida’s heat and humidity – no wonder most of them aren’t incredibly enthusiastic! but the ones that are dancing and look like they’re having fun and make the best of it make me want to give them a high five.
I live in NYC and fee so bad for the people who stand on the street corners, advertising or handing out pamphlets or whatnot, regardless of whether they are dancing or not. It’s bad because no one ever gives them the time of day, especially with the NY attitude thing. That job has to be terribly depressing, getting constantly ignored and rejected. I see the people from Children’s International, the guys trying to sell you their rap CDs, the guys trying to sell you a salon visit, people handing out menus, and this poor girl who stands on the corner I live on, handing out buy-one-get-one drink special things for a bar around the corner nearly every day, rain, shine, or otherwise. I do feel pretty bad for them.
