What's it like to work on a cruise ship?
I imagine it’s extremely hard work, with long hours and not much pay. What’s it really like? Do you get days off? Share some experiences, please.

Steel beach picnics on Sunday’s.. fishing off the fantail… greatest sunsets you’ll ever see.. hitting golf balls off the flight deck… battle station drills… oh you mean like a cruise ship.. my bad..
I don’t know.. I guess kinda like this .
Probably similar as working on a navy ship but with different content .
That all depends what sort of work you are about to do on board. I have done several cruise contracts as entertainer (show band musician) and have had some good and some bad experiences. As a musician you are likely to have pretty good hours with lots of shore time. Pay is ok. I have seen the other jobs on the ships work loads of hours with much less shore time. Doing ground work is the hardest such as cleaning, waiting. Receptionists and travel staff work hard too but get more people interaction obviously. What job are you applying for?
@NaturalMineralWater, Thanks for the link.
@HeNkiSdaBro, I’m not applying for a job (yet), I’m just extremely curious as to what day-to-day working is really like, say, for a waiter or the person who babysits the kids all day.
The work is generally long and hard and the pay is not high. Even the captain of the ships make less money than one would probably expect.
