Oh, that means you actually have to have it cleaned at some point?
Are we talking “outer” garments like coats and stuff, or “skin-close” like shirts and blouses?
Shirts
Pants
Skirts/Dresses
I never wear shirts more than one day, no good. Dry-clean pants, I might go up to a third day, if the fabric is right.
dry cleaning is “cleaning”.
you really shouldn’t dry clean an item more than twice a year, as the process can damage fabrics. slowly it will break it down and your garment is ruined. but the perc (the highly dangerous and cancer-causing chem they use in most plants) removes dirt. Some “green” operations use other processes, which i can’t think of the name of right now, but it’s slightly better all around, garment-saving wise. i don’t know that it gets anything any cleaner though.
The same goes for all my clothes, unless it smells or has a visible dirty mark on it I dont wash or dryclean
Isnt that what Febreeze is for?
I have some jeans that have not been washed in years
Very few of my clothes require dry cleaning. I take my coats in after I’m sure winter is over. We have a green dry cleaners on my block.
I only send things in for dry cleaning when they look/smell/feel dirty. Sometimes it’s after one wear, sometimes it’s, uh… a lot longer than that.
