You own a deep fryer? Where can I get one?

Wait till it really cools. Put it in one of those ziploc freezer bags, then seal it. Then into a grocery bag. Then in the garbage.

Try freezing (while it’s in ziploc) first. Then there is less chance of leakage.

That was very interesting Steelmarket, but I don’t want to put it down the drain, it’s a lot of oil and I know it’s not good for the environment, that’s why I was asking for another ways to dispose it, thank you.

Such was not my assumption. I merely offer it as a cautionary tale. :-)

Oh! LOL! That’s what I thought, thanks anyway ;)

Waste cooking grease is a recyclable commodity that is re-refined and used primarily for animal feed. if you know a eatery that deep fries often they may allow you to put it into their tank/bin that is then pickup by a rendering company. also there may be a bio-fuel guy in your area that will filter it and blend it with diesel and use it for fuel.

Run the hot water in your sink and then slowly pour the oil down the drain. I don’t understand why you think that would be bad for the environment. We aren’t talking about a petroleum based oil here.

Drink it all and shit it out!
...but really store it in a container for later uses or run down to your local fast food joint and “borrow” their back oil bin.

My husband collected fryer oil from a friend’s restaurant, filtered it at home and put it directly into his very very old Mercedes (which was equipped with a fryer-oil-burning conversion package). This Merc is for sale, as I’ve mentioned before. It’s beautiful.

I don’t have a deep-fat fryer, but if I did, I would filter the food bits out, and roller the used oil onto the deck behind my back door to help preserve it from the elements. I already do this with the little bits of oil I use for cooking. Is it evenly distributed? No. It is easy to notice? No. Does it smell like dinner? No. Win win win.
