I think you can flip it? If it’s real bad you can put a sheet of plywood between the mattress and box spring. I’ve never done this but I’ve heard it works…
They have 4–6 inch foam mattresses that fit under the fitted sheet. In fact I slept on a foam mattress on a platform bed for years. It came with a cotten ticking cover and cost about $25 in 1980.
Try a bra.
Just kidding!
what @galileogirl said sounds good.
I slept for a year on one of those “Guest” air mattresses- the kind that is 2 mattresses tall. Very comfortable actually. Much better than the worn out one I had before that I woke up feeling like rigor had set in during the night.
I would still be on it but the spouse did not take to having a temporary bed.
Been there. There is no fix, only temporary patches. It will only get worse, no matter what you do. That said, the sheet of plywood between the box and top mattress will negate the small dips in the box springs. I’ve even laid old towels on top of the plywood at strategic places to help “fill in” dips. Best advice: start saving now for a new mattress.
