What do you have a taste for?

Asked by charliecompany34 (7813points) February 24th, 2009

i ask my wife this question all the time and for some reason she always comes up with fried chicken and baked beans. seriously, dear, can we mix it up a little bit? what, vanilla ice cream again for dessert?

if you had a choice tonight, what would you eat that would just put you straight to bed? forget calories and diet regimen. you have a taste for…

P.F. Chang’s double fried noodles. The name alone should be the reason not to eat them, but yum.

My mom’s lemon meringue pie. It was to DIE for.

Lobster bisque, cornbread, biscuits, a Steak and Shake frisco melt, edemame, steak quesadillas, my best friend’s mother’s corned beef and cabbage, buffalo chicken wings, ribs, and a great spinach salad. Tasty.

spicy black bean soup from wildflower cafe! And those sugar cookies that they have at most grocery stores at the bakery with the huge glob of icing! you know what i’m talking about… right…

sour cream and onion chips with some dip, some beef jerky, some peanut butter. Get some Häagen-Dazs ice cream bars, a whole lot, make sure chocolate, gotta have chocolate, man. Some popcorn, red popcorn, graham crackers, graham crackers with marshmallows, the little marshmallows and little chocolate bars and we can make s’mores. Also, celery, grape jelly, Cap’n Crunch with the little Crunch berries, pizzas. We need two big pizzas, everything on ‘em, with water, whole lotta water, and Funyons.

and, what was that thing we used to eat back in the day? What was it… oh yeah, pussy.

La_chica_gomela's avatar

@charliecompany34 – it’s French, and it’s amazing. It’s not really like anything else. I’ve tried to describe it like 4 times now, and whatever I write, I end up erasing it, The classic version is with tart cherries. Yum. I’m sorry I can’t describe it. I’ve used this recipe, before and it’s quite good.

@tennesseejac: I legit was going to put a fat cock on the end of my answer, but I thought it was a little crude…

Pink Berry—Green tea with 2 scoops of Fruity Pebbles and 1 scoop of blueberries. I guess I have to settle for the red velvet cake that is waiting for me.

elijah's avatar

My perfect meal is always a perfectly cooked salmon with some sort of light seasoning, garlic mashed potatoes, some good salad, and a killer chocolate cake for dessert. But I also really like a good pickle and cheese sandwich, or pb&j, hot tea and cookies, pop tarts, veggies and dip, Bertucci’s pizza with carmelized onions and roasted garlic, or an everything bagel with lox and cream cheese. Or anything that includes cream cheese. I’m such a fatty in this paragraph.

charliecompany34's avatar

@ubersiren grilling salmon right now as we speak! ever had jerk salmon like i’m hooking it up tonite? to die for!

wanted to come up with a pulled-pork alternative, since i don’t eat pork, sort of like a cuban sandwich with pickles and mustard. i think i could make it happen with chicken.

ubersiren's avatar

@charliecompany34 : I’m drooling now. Mmmm jerk. You could probably pull chicken- have you tried that?

charliecompany34's avatar

@ubersiren yes, with succulent thigh meat or breast. i can make it happen.

tennesseejac's avatar

@charliecompany34 I’m drooling now. Mmmm thigh meat and breast. I hope we are on the same level here

I wasn’t terribly hungry tonight, and I felt a little ill, so I opted for tamago nigiri (sweet egg omelet on top of sushi rice) and miso soup. But yesterday I couldn’t resist: I had a taste for rare chile-rubbed, fire-grilled rib eye steak, jalapeno mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables and I indulged it (which may be why I am not very hungry today)

aprilsimnel's avatar

I am going to look for a recipe for tamago nigiri. That sounds really good.
