Hedgehogs, are they sick if out in day light?

Found a baby hedgehog around midmorning and duly put it in a nice shady place. I walked past later and it had come out into the sunlight again. I had always thought they werre sick if they did this.

I’d call a local vet or animal care facility and ask. They’ll know, and if it is sick they’ll know what to do with it!
