Which reference style should I use?

I’m pursuing masters in Industrial Engineering. Which reference style should I use in the dissertation? As far as I know I should use APA reference style. What is your opinion?

Our opinions don’t really matter if your school/program/course/teacher has a specified mandatory style they’d like you to use, so I’d first make sure that there isn’t such a thing.

APA is solid and a safe bet. I personally enjoy MLA style as well.

Whatever style is the required by either the institution, department, professor, etc.
APA seems to be the most widely held standard, although I have also seen a certain class or department require Chicago Style (CMOS)
