Is google an honorary member of the collective?

Asked by NaturalMineralWater (11308points) February 28th, 2009

Do you google for answers? Is there a secret behind the collective’s knowledge? ha (side question: do you know of a better search engine?)

Google is an honorary feature of the collective as evidenced by the nice Google Custom Search window in the upper right hand corner of the page. I’ve used Google on more occasions that I can remember when looking for all kinds of information but seldom for my answers on Fluther. I personally don’t know of a better search engine. Whenever I’ve used Google, I’ve usually found what I’m looking for on the first two pages of recommendations.

I know. Sometimes I just ask dumb questions on a whim. One day I’ll get a handle on it. xD

@NaturalMineralWater. I don’t think it was a dumb question.

Yay for google. I remember when northernlight was a competitor. Sad days.

I’ll admit to googling, but only because I’m amazed at how many people can’t construct a useful search.

Letmegooglethatforyou.com is an invaluable resource.

Sometimes, Google makes me Giggle. Must be the things I look for.

A person could lose half a lifetime just screwing around with Google Image Search.

I only Google if I’m making a claim that I’m pretty sure is correct, but not sure enough to say it without validating it before I say it.

I just started using a search engine called swagbucks.com because you earn bucks when you search and can cash them in for gift cards.
