What has been your experience with Mimi's Cafe?

I have had bad experiences every time I’ve went. I don’t know what area you live, but the one in my area has lousy service. I have gone maybe 4 or 5 times. The only reason why I went that many times is because I was always treated for lunch/dinner and they chose the place. They always seem to forget something, get at least two orders wrong. I don’t care for the food either. I haven’t gone in years and I refuse to go back…even if someone is treating me. Don’t expect much from this place.

As far as I know, it is just a typical chain restaurant ala Chiles or Outback or Tahoe Joe’s so that is what I would expect with regards to price and quality of food.

I’ve always had horrible service and echo babygall’s thoughts. However, the breakfast is really good. Dinner and lunch menu… Not so much.

I never really understood the significance of the muffins. I feel like you get a muffin with everything?!?!

There were a few in my old town and I always had good service and good food from them. Their breakfast is nice and so are many of their sandwiches. It’s been a few years since I’ve seen one, and I don’t remember a lot about other meals. We usually did brunch-time meals there. If anything, it might be too much food for one meal. My husband and I used to split things there a lot or bring things home for later. It is similar to chili’s prices, but the variety is better.

We used to go often but since they were purchased we’ve noticed its decline. About two weeks ago we went back hoping that it had improved from the last time we had gone (about two months before). What we found was horrible service and that sealed it for us. Sadly, we’re done with Mimi’s, which is a shame because they have really great corn chowder.

I’ve been to Mimi’s in two different states and my experiences have all been pretty good. I do agree with willbrawn that their breakfast is much better than their dinner. If I was going to be stranded on a desert island I would definitely bring a bunch of their buttermilk spice muffins, those things are incredibly delicious.

I went today and loved it. May I recommend the beef dip sandwich with extra toppings.

They used to do this flat-steak sandwich that my husband loved. Sometimes we’d go for breakfast and he’d end up getting that instead. :^> I’m not sure if they still make it, though.
