I just Googled “Bix Beiderbecke apartment death’ and was led to a site that gives what I think is the answer.

Not sure, but the town where he lived and played trumpet in is right across the river from here. They have a street, a park, a couple of bronze statues and a 7 mile marathon run named after him. Bix is big news around here. I’ve heard that ol’ Bix is very popular in Europe.
