Yes, according to JK Rowling.
According to this article, J. K . Rowling at Carnegie Hall said that Dumbledore fell in love with Grindelwald and so you could say that he was homosexual.
PS. I trust the validity of this article since a lot of other news sites are also reporting the samething. A google news brought in over 400 results
Does it matter? Seems to me Dumbledore’s sexuality (or really anybody’s) played any role in any of the books (except the teenage angst of the young people). Sometimes it’s nice to read something that’s a rousing good tale without any of the weightier issues. As an example, I’m a big fan of the Horatio Hornblower series. You could make a pretty good argument there might be some underlying homoerotic tension in the books, but I prefer just to read them for the swashbuckling good adventures they are. It’s nice sometimes to read something without any overt sexuality, straight, gay or otherwise.

I don’t think so, often British men with their proper way of speaking can be mistaken for someone who’s gay. Besides he was rarely see happy, so no not gay.
