What story can I tell the Apple store about why my phone looks like a lava lamp?

For those of you following my phone saga, I am going to take it to the Apple store to see if I can get my phone replaced. The sensors that determines if the phone was damaged by water have not turned pink. I do have AppleCare insurance that I payed extra for, but I’m not sure what to say happened to my phone. Any suggestions?
