Ever heard of 'Passages' by Philip Glass & Ravi Shankar? well.. you know anything similar?
If you haven’t I strongly suggest you taste the beauty these two greats put together. Wonderful collaboration.

Great, amazing album. The only thing similar I know of is the soundtrack to “Powaaqatsi.”
@PupnTaco…and I hope you and I aren’t the only people here that know of it.. such quality should be mainstream, but unfortunately isn’t .
By the way.. Do you have any clue where I could Find that old film, I’ve seen the preceeding one, Koyaanisqatsi and other things by Reggio…but would like to watch some over and see new ones..(like the third of the trilogy)..
Any way you can help me?
I’m not sure what you are asking?
Just any East/West collaberation or something more specific?
Got a sample somewhere online?
@Bagardbilla yes I intend international artists’ collaborations, you know…like bobby mcFerrin & Yo Yo Ma… fantastic works of art like this.. which would seem most unexpected .
One of my all time fav is a collaberation of Nusrat Fatah Ali Khan & Michael Boorks. It’s “Kawali” (Muslim devotional music) set to contemporary rythems… pretty cool stuff, even better if you can decipher the Sufi lyrics! Check it out.
@Bagardbilla Oh, indeed.. I know that.. Qawwali is superb, both as a genre and title for this collaboration. Have you heard also by Micheal Brooks with Omar Farruq : Morgana..? check that out..
No I haven’t, thanks! I will.
