What made you fall in love with the people you've fallen in love with?

Everything about him, combined in the way he was. His humor, his ability to calm me, his level-headedness, his devotion, his confidence, his smile, his affection, the way he looked when he was making fun of me that let me know he was only joking, his passion for his interests…. everything about him. There was nothing about him that I didn’t like, and that’s what made me love him.

I guess his utter reluctance to keep me from not loving him. He wooed me and bam, it was like little birds fluttering around my head.

The way he accepted me for the person I am; also, the way he is with my daughter. There was no rush for him, he didn’t bribe her to like him and he didn’t pretend, with her. I was then, and always will be, a mother first. To see someone get the fact that I brought her into this world, she is my number one (now I have a son, too – it’s a tie!) concern, everything else falls into place after my children.

I realized that I wanted him to stick around, after meeting his mom. Watch a guy with his mother, that speaks volumes.

He says things, and he means them. He makes promises, and he keeps them. He always manages to make me smile and laugh, and there’s just something about the way he looks at me or when he touches me.

When I finally admitted that while he is not the perfect man, he is the perfect man for me. I felt it would be ungrateful to (God? The universe? Fate?) whatever sent him my way not to love him. : )
