Put the playstation away for a while. Ignoring things sometimes makes them come around. I think it is giving you a message to get out and talk to people. See? you came here to talk to us. It’s working.
Because somewhere an Xbox 360 is laughing at you
But people don’t have space ships that fly at 300mph!!!!
@Triiple Well at least the ps3 can say HA at least I look good.
So your problem is that your PS3 can’t download fully?
Error codes exist to help with troubleshooting! You need to write down that error code and give it to the tech support at Sony’s Playstation division. Keep calling them, emailing them, don’t stop till you have an answer. You paid for hardware, it is your right to have that hardware working fine. You can also try Googling your error code word-for-word (put it in quotes too), this will let you find others who have your problem and you can see if they’ve found a solution.
You say Playstation “can’t help you”. Why is this? What did they say?
And sadly your PS3 can’t really say “at least I look good” if it won’t even play the game you’re trying to download! I sure know my Xbox hasn’t had downloading problems and looks beautiful to boot :)
Because it really wants to retire and watch you play on the far superior XBOX.
Mine did.
Wait, wait, wait, I mean, I love the xBox 360 too and everything. But are people really trying to tout the effectiveness of a console with a known and continued hardware deficiency over a one time malfunction? Can we say red ring of death?
Um, in other news—yes, what dynamicduo said. She’s right.
xbox 360s are ugly blocks of Microsoft evilness with a bad spell of digestive problems.
Now lets not talk about what console is better and focus on the topic issue.
Oh and the code is: 80029564
If you did, you would have found a possible solution.
Ahem:
UPDATE 2: SUCCESS! My conclusion at this point is that there is a problem with performing downloads in the background. After deleting the demos that were giving me trouble I went back to the Playstation Store and downloaded the demos, but didn’t click “Perform in Backgound” and they downloaded and installed just fine.
Hopefully this info will help others that may run into this problem. Leave the router settings alone (assuming you’re able to get online already, of course) and download WITHOUT doing it in the background and just wait for it.
If you still have the same problem, then try changing your router settings and see if that help, just write down what your original settings were in case you need to go back to them.
UDPATE 3: A week later and this still seems to work great!
I read that 3 times over the past 2 weeks, and it did not help :(
You read it, but did you follow the instructions to delete the download and try it again?
Regardless I would advise not paying for any downloads until you get a free one working, and I would put forth effort to get back the money you’ve lost, if you’ve paid for them but they are not installing/downloading correctly.
I know nothing about our PS3. I just want to know why when we connect it to the internet, it sucks the internet up from the laptop. Sorry I’m no help :(
@EmpressPixie
Pros and cons, really. The main reason I got a PS3 was my outright hate for everything M$oft.
Then I got semi-frustrated with the available games, and the fact that all online games on the PS3 seemed to suck, lag-wise, etc. So everything “online” seems to be an issue with the PS3. Dunno, all brand-perception and favoritism aside, the 360 is the superior “user experience”.
As for the problem at hand. A factory-reset seems in order.
I’ve heard they actually don’t work that well, and they break continuously, I personally wouldn’t invest in one, the Wii is pretty durable, and fun. PS2 is fine too, and Xbox 360 is really fun too. There are so many other game systems to choose from that work better! :)
