Sorry! But how do I search for questions to see if they have already been asked?

I know this is a stupid question, because everyone on here seems to know the answer already, so I guess I am just deficient in that area… But seriously, how do I search for previously asked questions? Is there something besides the “See all topics” to find specific questions? I looked around on the site before asking by clicking the links, but I still didn’t figure it out :-/

There is a search box on the top right of the page. It’s just to the right of Home, My Account, Blog and Tell a Friend. Type in keywords of your question there, click search, and you will see what’s been discussed previously.
ok cool. thank you! i had always thought it was just a google search, ha
You know how many times this same question has been asked????
(just kidding, I’m new to this site)
Is there such thing as a stupid question?
If so, is my question one of them?
I’m not sure if there are stupid questions, but there sure are annoying ones. Especially like when you answer the question one day, and it pops up again the next, or within the same week. It’s as if you answered for nothing.
I suppose we should be more forgiving, since they are new to the site, and it’s not necessarily the easiest place to figure out, especially if you’ve never been to a site before. Before they figure out the search function, how can they know what has been asked before. And even if they have figured it out, it’s not always easy to find the wording of the question that is pretty much the one you want to ask.
alive, thanks for asking this question. I, also, thoguht that search box was for Google. I think it’s misleading to have that image there.
@daloon, yes, I thought it was quite hard to figure this site out at first. And people here sure are quick to jump on you if you’ve asked a prior question, I’ve noticed. There may be new people coming every day that don’t know how to get in & look things up. I’ve been here for a little while now, & I didn’t know about the search box thing. Just because old timers know about such things doesn’t mean we all do. Everyone was new here at some time. Have a little patience, folks.
