Is it possible for child molesters to be rehabilitated?

Asked by peyton_farquhar (3741points) March 8th, 2009

Would you ever trust a man you knew to have molested his own child, with your children? Can people who molest their own children also be good people?

His own child? Burn him at the steak and let his body be eaten by fire ants. Fucking trash

Waste of a good steak. ;-)

Just off the top of my head, I’ve always heard that it’s not possible.

No. I would never trust a man (or woman for that matter) who molested any child around my children. Thats just setting your children up for abuse.

In my mind anyone who molested their own children is even scarier than those who molest OTHER children because they cant even control themselves around their own family.

Personally… I think any parent who knowingly puts their children in a situation where they are exposed to a known child molester is guilty of child abuse themselves and should not be allowed to keep those children.

I don’t care if they have been “rehabilitated” they still wouldn’t be going anywhere NEAR my kid.

Ok. Allow that the child-molesting father “found God” and that ten years or so passed. Is a healthy relationship between father and son possible at this point?

Only the son can answer that.

If the son is an adult, he could choose to have a relationship with his father. If the son is still a child, the mother should say NO.

Is this for a story?

@Jeruba
no, this is for me to figure out what I should be feeling right now.

Peyton, are you the mother in this situation?

I would not ever leave my child with a child molestor. No.
