I’m 30 and I still get checks on my b-day and X-mas. Too old? Pfft

19. It sucks! I still get them from some family, but some of the more extended stopped.

It’s never too old to send or receive packages for special occasions; common courtesy

The way we do gifts in our family for siblings, etc. is if we are together on a birthday, then we give a present. If not, no gift, but a sweet phone call.

The nieces and nephews no longer get money when they turn 18, but they still get cards. :)

PublicBlog said it. Give as you will, but I have found it’s better not to expect anything and then you’re not disappointed.

In my family… once you turn 18 you stop getting gifts if you are SINGLE… but if you are MARRIED, then you get them inevitably.

Go figure. I’m single.

Never. Of course my extended family have never sent me any kind of birthday greetings, but that is beside the point.

My parents still get me gifts, and my grandmother will send me money. My mother in law always gets me things too.
My extended family just gives us chocolate or wine on special occasions.
I still have one young cousin though, and since we all got gifts til we were at least 18, we all have to get her a gift still. So, on Christmas Eve, she’s the only “kid” that gets a gift.

My grandmother still sends me gifts, I’ll be turning 14 in two weeks…

And these gifts are toys..
