Why is Firefox not allowing me to answer questions?

Asked by essieness (7703points) March 9th, 2009

When I click answer, nothing happens. Also, it isn’t showing the preview of my answer. I’ve restarted Firefox a couple of times and no dice. I don’t want to use IE.

This happened to ME last week. Look for TOOLS on the top of Firefox window. Go to CLEAR PRIVATE DATA, check everything off then CLEAR PRIVATE DATA NOW. You’ll have to log on to Fluther again. Let me know.

Whatever you do, don’t use IE.

Testing… it worked! Thanks @Mr_M

@lefteh Oh I KNOW.

You shouldn’t have to check everything off. Just checking “cache” should do it.

@essieness , GREAT. Now the question is, what’s up with Fluther that people have to do this?

jbfletcherfan's avatar

@Mr_M Thanks! As you can see, that worked. :-)

Mr_M's avatar

And you have IE.

@PnL, I think Fluther tech people might want to look into this problem.

Mr_M's avatar

Hey! I’m not proud! I want lurve, please!

Mr_M's avatar

Thank you.

syz's avatar

Huh, I’ve been having the same problem all day at work.

Mr_M's avatar

And, truth be told, I had the problem earlier today myself.

lefteh's avatar

Yeah! I say we grab some torches and pitchforks and march to Andrew’s house!

jbfletcherfan's avatar

@Mr_M Lots of lurve to you. You told me what to do to fix it. :-)

jbfletcherfan's avatar

@lefteh with goat heads on the pitchforks!!!

jlm11f's avatar

@Mr_M and everyone else – I have alerted Ben/Andrew about the problem.

essieness's avatar

@PnL Awesome, thanks!

@PnL I’ve always wondered, what does your avatar say? My nose is squished against the computer screen but I still can’t see.

lefteh's avatar

”@Mr_M and everyone else – I have alerted Ben/Andrew about the problem.”

How does one alert Ben/Andrew? If you tell one, do they always tell each other? Or is it an osmosis type thing.

@lefteh
I.E works great for me. Why do you say that?

essieness's avatar

@seventhsense I’ve been told there are major security issues with it. I’m not sure what they are, but just to be safe I stick with Firefox. sorry, I know you were asking lefteh.

SeventhSense's avatar

No it’s cool. I had some serious backdoor bots and trojans(sounds kinky but really not fun) but managed to purge and there are many patches updates etc. and all seems well now. It’s always going to be the most frequently targeted being the sheer volume of Windows users

lefteh's avatar

Also, if you have ever tried to design a website, you would totally get how much it sucks.

SeventhSense's avatar

I have IE 7. And I am designing one but it’s a simple set up. One day i will join the mac people too but I’m still a virgin…I have yet to bite the apple and coming from an art background that’s blasphemy. I’ve used Photoshop on a PC…Gasp!! My art has always been the hands on stuff though.

On another note,I think my question about age on Fluther was squelched…...

jlm11f's avatar

@lefteh – I just emailed them, or if they are online, I IM them. That way both are directly informed, and there’s no need to expect either to be clairvoyant :P

SeventhSense's avatar

My new age question is up

jbfletcherfan's avatar

Okay, it looks like I’m the lone wolf here, but I have IE7 & I have no problems with it. I love it.

SeventhSense's avatar

@jbfletcherfan
No I said I did too. And it’s great

jbfletcherfan's avatar

@SeventhSense yes, I saw that. I didn’t mean to slight you in any way. I guess when I saw you mention a Mac, I took it that you’re going ‘over to the other side’. Since I’ll never own one, I just look at myself as the only fan of IE7.
