This is REALLY HARD. My favorites are

Disney: Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Alice in Wonderland, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Lion King

Who Framed Roger Rabbit is another favorite.

Lion King and Anastasia

I’m thinking Lion King (but I love The Jungle Book. . . )

Les's avatar

I love the Lion King, but the ones that impress me are the ones drawn entirely by hand, such as Snow White and Pinnochio.

forestGeek's avatar

Toy Story is my favorite.

electricsky's avatar

@Les: Pinnochio was the first movie I ever remember seeing, so even though I’m not a huge fan it has tons of sentimental value for me. :)

syz's avatar

Finding Nemo, without a doubt.

hearkat's avatar

I’m with@syz… Finding Nemo is one of the best movies ever—whether animated or live action.

syz's avatar

Yay! Another Nemo fan.

poofandmook's avatar

I knew I was forgetting one… the original Charlotte’s Web.

Wall-e

More recent, Monster’s Inc., Toy Story

The Land Before Time

fireside's avatar

Hand Drawn – Alice in Wonderland
Computer animated – Shrek
Live action with Computer animation – Lord of the Rings (trilogy counts as one)

Honorable Mention

casheroo's avatar

I totally forgot about The Land Before Time!! Loved that!

Bri_L's avatar

Hand Drawn – Beauty and the Beast – Best most complete marriage of story, Character and song

Computer – Anything by Pixar WAY above anything else but the best of all in my mind is Monsters. Technically and conceptually brilliant. Monsters are scaring kids to get screams, but they are terrified of them because they think kids are deadly. Genius.

Bri_L's avatar

@jonsblond – easily the best marriage of animation and sound in my opinion.

ubersiren's avatar

@jonsblond : Oooh, Fantasia is a good one. Lurve that.

jonsblond's avatar

I never get tired of watching it! Even at the age of 38. :)

Lightlyseared's avatar

ooh…. or Toy Story. How could I forget Toy Story?

electricsky's avatar

Oh! I forgot about Finding Nemo. I’ve probably watched it about 30 times. Love it.

Bri_L's avatar

Man, Toy Story is the Grand Daddy of them all.

poofandmook's avatar

How could I forget The Land Before Time?! I used to want Little Foot tattooed on me lol

forestGeek's avatar

Nightmare Before Christmas is another of my all-time faves!

Bluefreedom's avatar

Watership Down
The Lion King
Aladdin
Fantasia
The Iron Giant
Who Framed Roger Rabbit

mcbealer's avatar

Ice Age (the first one) and The Iron Giant
I just saw Coraline this afternoon, must say it was very impressive
It reminded me a lot of Tim Burton’s work

jonsblond's avatar

@forestGeek I love Nightmare Before Christmas. lurve!

One of my favorite computer animated movies is Monsters Inc.

syz's avatar

Monsters Inc definitely wins for most original, creative story line.

jonsblond's avatar

@syz Boo is so cute! :D

casheroo's avatar

@mcbealer that’s because it is a tim burton movie.

El_Cadejo's avatar

Alice in Wonderland
Finding Nemo (though my work is making me hate this movie. “mommy mommy look at all the nemos!!! Whats worse is when i am talking to adults and they tell me they have a nemo fish in their tank -_ -)
Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
Ratatouille
(anything done by Pixar is automaticly awesome.)

Blondesjon's avatar

Fritz the Cat, The Wall, Race for your Life Charlie Brown, Heavy Metal, and Kung Fu Panda.

syz's avatar

@Blondesjon Interesting selections. The Wall left me depressed for days. And I don’t really remember Heavy Metal, I think I was in a chemically altered state when I saw that.

El_Cadejo's avatar

@Blondesjon Oh man the wall and heavy metal. Damn forgot both of them.

Bri_L's avatar

@forestGeek – Number one for stop motion. No doubt.

@ blondsjohn – I thought The Wall and Heavy Metal were good but only great in the “your supposed to like them this much because your in college” great.

mcbealer's avatar

@casheroo ~ it is? funny, I didn’t see his name in any of the credits…

fireside's avatar

I was thinking about The Wall, but since it was a blend of live action and animation, it lost out to LOTR.

Oh, but Pete’s Dragon was pretty cool back when I was a kid.

fireside's avatar

Lord Of The Rings

Bri_L's avatar

OH, ok.. Thanks!

Blondesjon's avatar

@firesideBedknobs and Broomsticks was fanastic if we’re going down the Pete’s Dragon road.

forestGeek's avatar

@fireside – I loved Pete’s Dragon too!

Bri_L's avatar

@Blondesjon – I am on board with you there. Real life, mixed with animation then mixed with real life minus the people. Totally cool.

fireside's avatar

@Blondesjon – I remember loving Bedknobs and Broomsticks as a kid, but can’t remember much about the movie.

tiffyandthewall's avatar

aladdin, alice in wonderland, madagascar, nightmare before christmas

tinyfaery's avatar

Totoro is one of my favorites. I also love The Last Unicorn, and from Disney it’s definitely The Little Mermaid.

forestGeek's avatar

Anyone here see The Secret Adventures of Tom Thumb? Amazing and beautiful stop motion short movie with both animated humans and clay.

Edit: Here’s a sample

Bri_L's avatar

@forestGeek – I have never seen that. That is wild. What a thought to film people that way. Way cool.

MacBean's avatar

@Bluefreedom—Lurve for The Iron Giant. That movie is so underappreciated.

kevinhardy's avatar

kung fu panda

Bluefreedom's avatar

@MacBean. Very true. I was really impressed the first time I saw it.

ladytmerie's avatar

@tinyfaery—isn’t Totoro the greatest!! Anything by Hiyao Miyazaki (sp?) is magical. YES to The Last Unicorn, forgot about that one.
