My canary changed colors, is that normal?

it was orange but now that hes gone through a molt hes more yellow, is something wrong?

Form what I googled on canaries it looks like their colors can change slightly with diets, more red foods like beets can add a hint of red-orange and other foods can do the same with other colors. Has his diet changed in the time before the molt until now?

Or could he just be changing and growing up?

It’s kind of hard to find info on canaries. Damn.

Orange canaries are that color only because of the contents of their diet (it’s called red factor) – yellow is his natural color. If you want him to be orange again, the next time he starts a molt, put him on something called color food.

Yes, you must be careful with their diets.

Seriously, unless your canary is showing any other symptoms of not being right, I wouldn’t worry too much. Does he seem OK otherwise?

You can’t hold ‘em under water for too long when giving them a bath or they turn colors. Found that one out the hard way.

Hard to tell at that point. Did you know they don’t need help with their molting process? Lesson learned.

i got him a mirror today and he sat infront of it and fluffed his feathers up fancy. HOW FUNNY!
