Yes. I even took a self-hypnosis course. Hypnosis is an accepted therapeutic technique. Not all people can achieve a hypnotic trance, but most can.
Apparently yes because I find myself on this site every day.
Once, in high school during a psychology class, we had a hypnotist come. It worked for me and I was totally relaxed afterward. I’ve always wanted to try the fair ones, but they make them do too many embarassing things.
interesting – a hypnotist came to a conference to demonstrate relaxation techniques
She kept saying ‘relax your body…let everything go as if you were sinking through the floor”.
I’ve noticed that works to go to sleep at night. chuckle.
I’ve never had it done. But am very interested in Hypnobabies for my next child. I would like to be more in control of my body, and less afraid of the pain. I’ve heard wonderful things about Hypnobabies
my mom and sister did a few years ago,it worked for them .
my sister was a whopping 350 pounds and wanted to lose weight .
i don,t know what he said to her but she really lost weight for the first time in her life ,she looked great.
my mom wanted to quite smoking that worked too.
i was to darn scared he would make me cluk like a chicken or something every time i heard a phone ring.lol just joking only my mom and sis went it worked for them.
I am apparently not a good candidate for hypnosis.
I underwent hypnosis to quit smoking sixteen years ago. Haven’t smoked since. My bff went with me and she continues to smoke to this day. I think in order for hypnosis like that to work, the hypnotee must have an extremely strong desire to stop the offending behavior. I did, she didn’t. It was definitely the best 40 bucks I ever spent in my life.
A therapist once tried to hypnotize me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti.
Sort of, in therapy. I never felt like I was actually hypnotized, but stuff came out of that session that I didn’t even realize I was upset about. It was a huge turning point in my life… made me realize who I was really angry with.

I can’t make it to Dublin Marty. How about on the other side of the pond?
