What is your favorite video game glitch?

World of Warcraft, in one of the cities you can get underneath the map and you fall through nothing, while simultaneously falling through the entire continent.

There is another undeveloped area, the IF Airport, you can get there through a long windy path access to which is a glitch. When you get there the buildings have no doors or they are halfway in the mountains, the road signs say “This Way” “That Way” “The Other Way” and you can see the whole Menethil Harbor as if you’re up on Everest. Pretty cool.

In the original Super Mario Brothers if you got to Bowser with a fireflower and could jump on his nose and the axe at the same time you would proceed to the next level being small and with fireflower abilities.

in the original metriod, if you shot a bubble door, then stood just inside it when it closed, turn into a ball and then back into samus. do it multiple times, it will take you through the ceiling and into another level in some areas.

I can’t remember which Halo it is in, but there is one level where you’re trying to clear the hangar of covenant troops. Anyway, when the enemy ship pauses briefly to release troops, you can jump up and grab the turrets, so that when the ship takes off again it will pull you right out of the level. It takes some doing (and by doing I mean jumping on and off the turrets strategically), but eventually if you manage to hang on, the ship will crash, and there’s this great little cliff area where the sky has this wonderfully mirror like glitch. It’s pretty funny.

Also, in Halo 2, there’s the level on the bridge where, if you can get a banshee to follow you all the way down the highway tunnel, he will spawn with you in the next area. You can then take it from the pilot, and fly up into this rooftop area where the scarab gun is. For those of you unaware, the scarab gun is a plasma pistol the fires like the scarab tank’s cannon and has unlimited ammo.

This isn’t really a glitch per say: when my cousin and I were younger and we would play The Sims and they were…hm how did they put it “fooling around,” we would pause the game and then delete the bed object from the game. Yes, we would do this just so that we could see our little Sims naked.

@Foolaholic while the scarab gun was cool in Halo 2, i thought the GIANORMOUS soccerball on that same level was much cooler heh.

The duplication glitch in Oblivion. I had an awesome place in Skingrad.

In the first Halo game, during the very beginning of Assault on the Control Room, when you hold X and jump back into the Pelican Dropship.

Oh noez, I’m predictables.

It’s not so much a glitch as it is a mis-translation. But on Zerowing, it gave us the “All your base are belong to us” saying. The entire intro is hilarious, especially some of the remakes using the same words and replacing the pictures.

I enjoyed the glitches on the map Eder Dam on Call of Duty 2.
