Eh taking a shower standing up is not easy for everyone. A lot of people have an easier time sitting down and bathing. Usually older people. So they are just trying to accommodate everyone.
I imagine it is for those needing to be immersed. Hospitals in general are for all kinds of patients. If you are a heavy man and need a sponge bath, well, just let your imagination do the work. By the way this is a senior citizen with severe heart palpitations. So I am not making this up.
Oh, um because sometimes it’s recommended for medical reasons.
@2late2be, Congratulations of your new little girl! :-)
I, too, remember how hard it was getting in & out of the dang tub after giving birth. They should have a shower in the tubs. That way you’d have both options.
@2late2be congrats on your new baby girl I bet her big brother is great help! I have no clue why they do that they should just have showers with handles in them like my sister had when she gave birth to my niece!!
these days lucky Insurance let you stay long enough to get in and out of the tub!!!
So that patients can take a bath. Also it is incredibly tricky to assist someone to take a shower without getting covered in water (believe me been there, done that, got the wet T-shirt to prove it).
congrats!! what’s her name? (if you don’t mind sharing)
Hospitals are disgusting. I wore shoes in the shower when I got one after my son was born. They are just filled with all sorts of nasty things, and I didn’t want an infection after I gave birth. I would have rather gone home right away but it was nice having the nurses take him at night lol.
I would never bathe at a hospital. If I did a water birth, I’d bring my own tub.
No I don’t mind sharing, her name is Valeria and she weighted 9 lbs!!!
