Do the production of marshmallows need algae?

In other words, are there protists in marshmallows?

Well, i’ve already got it figured out, i was just trying to make sure i’ve got my information correct by asking it on fluther as well. It’s for my Biology assignment. And the answer is yes.
There is algae in marshmallows. The assignment was “why do protists matter to me” and to find a food, or a product which uses protists in it’s production. I decided to do marshmallows, but by googling it, i kept finding too many different answers of what kind of algae it was, and so i turned to fluther.
But I chose to do something else besides marshmallow’s anyways.
