If Hillary had been nominated and won, would she have found a place for Barack in her administration?

I’m not a big fan of speculative questions, but every time I hear a mention on the radio news of “Secretary Clinton” I think what a masterstroke it was for President Obama to put her talents to use in that way. And right on its heels comes the question: what would she have offered him if she had been the Democratic nominee and the winning candidate? and would he have accepted it?
Further curiosity: did she know before the election that he had her in mind for that slot?

I think she might have to make herself look better. But I sincerely doubt it would have been her idea.
I think i agree with asmonet, I don’t think she would have been sophisticated enough to utilize his talents. However Bill would have something to say about it, im sure.
She would also get pressured ( just as I’m sure Obama did, for the sake of the party), by the party elders to bring his supporters back to the party.
So in the end, Yes! She would have, but probably not out of her own doing.
I think that Hillary would have chosen Obama as her Vice President. She is very intelligent and would know that it would have been the best choice to make.
I think that Hillary also knew for some time that she was the choice for Secretary of State. I’m glad that Obama chose her.
If Hitler had been victorious would he and Stalin have been friends?
Possibly. It seems less likely to me than he appointing her to a position.
@Marina…She would have to solidify a party that has it’s differences, but, more importantly, an agenda to keep itself in the majority regardless of any ideology the public may share.
I’m not sure that she would have offered him a Cabinet position.
It as already a stretch in some ways to nominate her for the post because of her lack of experience. I don’t see her nominating him for Secretary of State.
That really only leave Attorney General, Secretary of Treasury or Secretary of Defense.
Any other post would sort of be an insult considering his popularity. Of those three, I think the only likely one would be Attorney General, but that is a pretty sensitive position to offer someone who was just your opponent.
@fireside…That answer solidifies my belief that sexism in America runs way deeper than racism. I said to jonsblond (back me up baby) during the nomination process that this is a fact and the democratic nominee will prove me right. thanks old, rich, fundamentalist christian, white guys
fyi i love you to death fireside, nothing personal
It’s true. Blondesjon gave me shit for buying that Hillary 2008 coffee travel mug.
@Blondesjon – why was that sexist? I think it would also be an insult to offer her anything below those four posts and, of the four, i think she was offered the one most suited to her.
And to be fair, I didn’t think he was going to offer her anything either. So it goes to show what i know
I always assumed she would just nominate him for Vice President.
