I was just wondering when to go and get my baby’s pictures taken by a photographer. She is almost 6 months and thought now might be a good time.

Why not?
I took my own of my son and took them ALL the time. Yes, that’s him in the avatar.
I think any time is a good time, photographers have so many cute poses they can do with babies that they don’t have to be able to sit up to get a good picture.
Right now would be good.
Go on. Get dressed. Grab the baby. Get going.
We did it at 3 months, and 1 year, that we planned. But did a couple photo shoots at Kiddie Kandids for free, while at babies r us.
Any time is good, as long as the baby wants to cooperate!
You have to hurry up and do it while it’s cute. Times a-wastin’.
probably in utero. they tend to move a lot more on the outside.
My parents had pictures taken of my three siblings and me every time we were, I believe, three months respectively. I quite like them, wouldn’t have really mattered if they had waited three more months :).
Damn I suck at explaining. Everytime one of us was three months old, they would have a picture taken of that one, so now we have four big pictures of each of us at three months old…
We did ours at 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, and counting…
I had mine done at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months then yearly after that.
@eponymoushipster – long time no see, welcome back!
We had studio portraits done at one year. Before that it was family candids. But six months is a great age. They are beautiful and smiling, and old enough to look like themselves. That’s when we took the bare-bottomed one on the shag rug, saying, “We have to have something to embarrass you with when you bring home your first serious girlfriend.”
