Word of mouth? Yellow Pages? professional referral?
And for what type of hypnotherapy (e.g., weight loss, quitting smoking, recovery of memory, gaining confidence, loss of fear)?
What were your criteria, and how did you shop?

I was hypnotized once as a demonstration by a friend of my extended familia, he threw in some think positive stuff. It relaxed me, and consequently I felt better for quite some time following that.
I don’t have the energy to post on all your questions on hypnotism today, but I promise I’ll get around to it. Suffice to say, I would never go to a person claiming to be able to retrieve lost memories. Time and time again it has been proven it is suggestion. I think in terms of relaxation and the ability to confront problems in a state of complete calm is beneficial to the issues anyone might be dealing with. But I don’t think it’s the hypnotism itself.
So to answer again, I found him through family. I don’t know if he still does it, but I found him very relaxing. And it was done in the middle of a family party with children screaming and running and I just…couldn’t care less. It was great. For a number of reasons. :)
For some strange reason I can’t remember…
