Theme song: Maude, One Day at a Time

Shows: The CBS Saturday night line-up, ca. 1975: Bob Newhart, All In the Family, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Carol Burnett Show

And I’d love for CBS to bring this back.

I would also have to say for theme song, Cheers and Fresh Prince of Bel Air. The theme song from Cheers especially reminds me of my favorite bar in my old town, and anytime I’m homesick, I hum or sing the song to myself. ‘Cheers’ me right up (apologies for the horrible pun)!

As for the show, I Love Lucy, definitely.

i forgot how 70s-tastic the theme to Maude was.

Donny Hathaway was the real soul deal, even when doing a theme for a TV show!

Theme song: Dukes of Hazzard! So good!

Show to watch: Dukes of Hazzard, and old-school Nickelodeon shows like Salute Your Shorts and Hey Dude and Clarissa Explains it All and Pete and Pete.

Pete and Pete theme song = “Hey Sandy” by Polaris.

am I the only one feeling old that Fresh Prince… is considered “old school” television?

eponymoushipster's avatar

@cprevite i know. but in the world of TV, it is an old show. Heck, that awful George Lopez show is on Nick at Nite. what happened to Nick at Nite?!

SuperMouse's avatar

@cprevite no, you are not the only one feeling old! Cheers made me feel old too. Old school to me is pre-1976 or so! I almost wrote The Patty Duke Show for theme song!

Meet Cathy whose been most everywhere from Zanzibar to Barclay Square, but Patty’s only seen the sights a girl can see from Brooklyn Heights! What a crazy pair.
