Does anybody find the new windows live photo gallery commercials insulting?

Asked by DeanV (14216points) March 19th, 2009

In my opinion, they are ridiculous. They remind me of all of those “so easy a caveman can do it” commercials that geico ran and still runs.

Except this time it’s “So easy a tiny 4 year old asian girl can do it”. WTF?

I find them sort of intimidating. I guess I believed they were true.

For those that don’t know about them, here is one.

Well, my daughter’s a tiny six-year-old Asian girl and she can run my iMac better than some of my twenty-something college students.

i’d be more interested in them if it was a 18yr old co-ed…

Only one answer I can think of…..

@TaoSan: Lurve for Justin Long. What an adorable sweetie he is.

I don’t necessarily find them “insulting” so much as unrealistic. Honestly, what four year old can hold a camera steady enough to take five or six shots to meld them together into a panoramic, even if they are familiar enough with the program to be able to do so? I’m definitely not using Windows Live anytime soon, so I’m not that concerned.

I don’t find them insulting. I think it’s a direct attack on the “mac is so much more user-friendly/easy to use” train of thought.

I don’t see the problem.

@everyone: Yeah. Maybe not insulting. But would they sell you a computer?

Microsoft could send a bevy of redheaded supermodel-comic book fangirls bearing two dozen homemade chocolate chip cookies (with walnuts) directly to my door and I still wouldn’t buy a PC.

but I’d eat the cookies

@cprevite you take the cookies, i’ll take the redheads. me-ow.

@eponymoushipster: Lurve for that meow, haha.
