What are good songs for couples to sing at karaoke?

Asked by tko7800 (586points) March 20th, 2009

Ok, so I’m going out tonight to make a drunken fool of myself by singing some tunes off-key. I was trying to think of some fun songs that can be done as a duo. One obvious choice is “Anything you can do, I can do better.” Any suggestions appreciated!

Also “Jackson” (J& J Cash) You can replace the city name if it fits. Words and tune are real easy. Just Yell.
When you’re done he can do a solo of “10 rounds with Jose Quervo”.
(I had to do a lot of this in a previous life.)

I second “I Got You Babe” or anything “Sonny and Cher”.

When I was a bartender, I think the song most sung by couples was that Kid Rock/ Sheryl Crow duet, “Picture.”

@TitsMcGhee “in the style of the Moldy Peaches”. karaoke lingo. :)

@eponymoushipster: The song in the movie is edited from the original. They didn’t want to say the line “shook a little turd out of the bottom of your pants.” Lulz.

Whoops, didn’t see AC’s.

Almost Paradise by Ann Wilson and Mike Loverboy
Endless Love by Diana Ross and Lionel Ritchie
Baby, Come To Me by James Ingram and Patti Austin
I Knew You Were Waiting for Me by Aretha Franklin and George Michael

I know, the guy’s name’s not Mike Loverboy, but I can’t be arsed to look him up.

eponymoushipster's avatar

@TitsMcGhee yeah, i know, i have the soundtrack. I think that, given some of the things said in that movie, they felt the need to edit it out. :)

@eponymoushipster: I was so happy when I went to see the movie and I already knew the music :) I just saw Kimya Dawson play a show, actually, and she was brilliant :D
