I proudly admit to watching almost exclusively shitty TV.

My top 3-

Millionaire Matchmaker (that’s my favorite these days)
The Real Housewives of NYC
Jon and Kate Plus 8

It used to be Blow Out on Bravo (“My hair’s bangin’”)

but now it’s the Apprentice on NBC.

otherwise, i just watch the Soup and get the funniest/saddest bits of all these guilty pleasure shows.

@eponymoushipster Oh my god, Blow Out. Excellent show. How about Work Out?
I have a feeling we’d get along

The Hills
Starts April 6th.

@Likeradar Work Out? is that the one with the really butch trainer?

La_chica_gomela's avatar

Mine used to be ‘I Love New York’.

One time I was watching it at my parents’ house, and my mom walks into the room, looks at the TV screen, which at the moment was showing a close-up of ‘New York’ talking about the next challenge or something, (there was no one else in the frame) and my mom says, “Is that like, one of those people, what do you call them, men who dress up as women?”

No joke, a woman who barely even knows the word transvestite thinks ‘New York’ is one. I love that show!

Likeradar's avatar

@eponymoushipster Yeah. Jackie Warner. I kinda love her. I totally should have added Work Out to my original list of guilty pleasure TV.

The Hills and The City.

so meaty

We watch Celeb Rehab House too, makes me so depressed. My husband really likes the show though.
Rock of Love..I think it’s Tour Bus. I keep saying I’m not going to watch the next season, but I always end up watching it.
We watch pretty much all the crappy VH1 shows, except I Love Money..I never got into that.
Say Yes to the Dress. Oh my god. It’s such a guilty pleasure. Watching women pick out their wedding dresses…lol
Any competition show, I like Project Runway, Top Chef, that hair styling one.
Hmm, there’s also a show on Bravo, “Tabatha’s Salon Take Over”. We totally watch that. lol

eponymoushipster's avatar

@Likeradar sounds ok, but i get irritated by all these “angry” female trainers. the biggest loser lady seems pissed all the time too. what’s up with that?

jonsblond's avatar

@casheroo I love Top Chef! Is it really a guilty pleasure?

I guess I really love cheese.

Likeradar's avatar

@eponymoushipster Jackie isn’t pissed all the time (don’t make me defend my indefensible burly girl crush) . I haven’t watched Biggest Loser in a while, but yeah, she does seem pissed… maybe it’s all the time spent in the gym rather than doing fattening fun stuff.

eponymoushipster's avatar

@Likeradar true. that or penis envy… :)

casheroo's avatar

@jonsblond I started listing all my favourite tv shows lol. Definitely not a guilty pleasure, neither in Project Runway. I got carried away with my shows :-/

I will add America’s Next Top Model on their though. I like waiting for the marathon’s, then watching the entire season ALL day. I haven’t done anything like that since before I had my son!

jonsblond's avatar

@casheroo I’ve been guilty of watching a marathon (or two) of Americas Top Model. :)

Likeradar's avatar

@casheroo How is the new Rock of Love Bus? I was obsessed with season 1 to the point of dressing up like Heather for Halloween. Season 2 was a little lame, is the new one even worse?

@eponymousehipster Penis envy could definitley put a girl in a bad mood… roids help too.

Is the 4th hour of The Today Show considered a guilty pleasure, what with Ugly-hotep and the Banshee shrieking and boozing for 60 minutes?

@Likeradar – the one on…Loser would probably get more if she didn’t look like she’d bite it off.

jonsblond's avatar

@eponymoushipster lol Yes! It’s one of the reasons why I quit watching The Today Show. I’d rather watch an hour with Willard Scott.

eponymoushipster's avatar

@jonsblond the first two hours are ok, but by hour four, it’s the bataan death march without the fun.

AstroChuck's avatar

Spongebob Squarepants. I’m watching right now, in fact.

casheroo's avatar

@Likeradar Well, they just got rid of the chick I thought would win, she was super trashy and I figured he’d go for a more trashy chick this time. She produced lots of entertainment, always making fun of the other girls. It’s a funny season, less fighting though.

@Astrochuck I watch Spongebob almost every day. My son loves it, and so do I.

On a kid’s tv note: I love Yo Gabba Gabba. I wish my son liked it more. I’m always trying to get him to dance to the dancey dance’s.

jonsblond's avatar

@casheroo I wish I could dance like Nathan. :P

I don’t feel guilty about anything I watch, mainly because I don’t watch very much TV at all. I do want to check out the dating reality show with the guy who teaches women how to pick up dudes. I think it’s going to start this Sunday evening on Vh1. That should be amusing.

TaoSan's avatar

I really can’t watch any of that crap. Makes me sick.

adreamofautumn's avatar

I really don’t like reality tv, but frequently when the stress of college and life gets to be too much I turn to the Disney channel. Simple, humorous, no drama…it’s great mindless television.

SeventhSense's avatar

Any cooking shows. Like Jim Gaffigan says, they’re like porn when your hungry.

galileogirl's avatar

I can only write this because it’s anonymous, if any friend found out I would have to start over on another continent’

Make Me a Supermodel

Everyone on this show is awful. The judges, the female host, the ‘challenges’ the wouldbe models (the guys are bigger girls than the biological girls). You never saw so many vacuous, untalented humanoids in your life but it is strangely compelling like watching chimps dressed in tuxedos on iceskates. The only person who approaches real is the male host, Tyree or Tyrone or something. He can actually speak English as he goes from humor to horror reactions.

aviona's avatar

This is very recent and very embarrassing. Gossip Girl. But I don’t have TV, so I have to stream it on my computer. (if. somehow. that makes. it. better?)

aviona's avatar

WOWWWW and after that last episode. offically an addict.

I cannot tear myself away from bad religious programming. I am in awe at how bad it can be.

The other guilty pleasure is watching Rachael Ray. I actually enjoy the show, but I really like to watch to see if they ever show her butt on screen. My guess is she has a big butt because they never show it. She’s awfully cute…

aprilsimnel's avatar

@Sueanne_Tremendous – You will love this, then. Trust me.
