@ivan did you get an alert to this comment

@JOE – you can type in their username with an @ symbol but if they haven’t participated in the thread, it won’t highlight.

@Benny – if they haven’t participated in the thread, then you could always use the same linking method for external content

Doing that won’t alert them in any way, it is just easier to spot as you scroll through the thread. Otherwise, you can PM them and if you want them to know what quip you are responding about, use the red Permalink icon that appears next to “Flag as” on mouseover.

@J0E Not that I can see.

@J0E – But you have to be sure to spell their names correctly or it won’t highlight.
You must have a zero in your name.

@Benny

Apparently the answer is yes

^^ Use PM’s for that, please.

@gailcalled where are my “comments for you”? Sorry about the PM thing—I don’t know how to do that yet. I’ll figure it out.

Click on my username or avatar and watch what happens. There will be a place on the new page to send me a comment. If you want it to be private, click on the little box. If you are going to send an extravagant compliment, feel free to let everyone read it.
